Beauty For Life benefits Vancouver's Friends For Life Society

Bingo, Dining Out and Art. Now its time for Beauty For Life, the latest fundraiser for Vancouver’s Friends For Life Society.

Sponsored by the BeautyCouncil of Western Canada, participating salons will donate a portion of their services sales on Sunday, January 18 to the Friends for Life Society of Vancouver.  Salons participating in Beauty For Life include:

Get your hair styled, receive a massage or get your nails done at a participating spa or salon and at least 50% of the cost of the services provided will support people living with HIV/AIDS and cancer.  Spending just $150 on a cut and colour at a Beauty For Life salon is enough to provide meals for 25 people at Friends For Life.

Beauty For Life is dedicated to longtime Vancouver Sun fashion journalist Virginia Leeming.

Friends For Life serves as a catalyst to enhance the wellness of individuals living with a life threatening illness by providing complementary and alternative health and support services. Started in the 1990s to meet the needs of people confronting the challenges of HIV/ AIDS epidemic at the time, Friends For Life continues to provide services to persons with any life-threatening illness.

The BeautyCouncil is a member driven non-profit organization that oversees the growth and development of training, certification, advocacy and events for Western Canada’s beauty professionals.
