It’s time to get your kink on as Vancouver’s annual Rubbout returns for its 24th edition this coming holiday weekend.
North America’s longest running men’s rubber and gear event takes on the theme of Industrial Revolution this year with four days of events and activities for the true rubber aficionado, as as well as those newcomers looking to find out what it is all about.
“Rubbout heartily welcomes and encourages first-timers to our event and newcomers to rubber,” say organizers. “Of course, we encourage everyone to wear rubber/latex if possible, but come anyway even if you don’t have any. In a pinch you may also substitute other sexy, fetish wear such as leather.”
Early-birds kick-off the weekend with Rubber Muster on Thursday, April 2, an opportunity to meet other attendees. That same night organizers are planning on heading “out somewhere unexpected and freak out the cotton people”. For those not in the know or unfamiliar with the vernacular, it isn’t difficult to figure out that “cotton people” refers to those not dressed in rubber that night.
The long-weekend officially gets underway on Friday, April 3 with a Meet and Greet co-hosted by the Vancouver Men in Leather at the Pumpjack.
A great way for Rubbout newbies to start building their wardrobe is at the Rubbout Gear Swap on Saturday, April 4. One of the most popular events at Rubbout, the swap is not only a great place to pick-up a few items, but also a great way to sell-off older unwanted rubber and fetish gear. The swap also helps Rubbout continue each year by taking a percentage of sales to help fund next year’s events.
