It’s not easy being green: just ask Shrek

It’s not easy being green.  Just ask Kermit the Frog and … Shrek.

The live stage musical version of the 2001 animated film (and its three sequels) comes to Burnaby’s Michael J Fox Theatre in February.

With its pre-Broadway start in Seattle six years ago it is perhaps fitting that the show makes its way back to the Pacific Northwest as it tells its story of a unlikely love between an ugly Ogre and his Princess.  Featuring many of the film’s favourite characters including the diminutive Lord Farquaad and the talkative Donkey, Shrek The Musical not only builds on the original, but brings song and dance to the mix.

Culture Vulture David C Jones speaks with Matthew Fedorowicz who plays one of the Three Little Pigs and Ryan Purdy who plays Peter Pan.

Shrek the Musical plays the Michael J Fox Theatre in Burnaby February 7-16, 2014.  Tickets are available online.
