Gee Willikers, Space is a musical comedy that is out of this world

Vancouver continues to be a hotbed of original musical theatre as Rock Theatre Co and Third Kid Productions join forces in presenting Gee Willikers, Space at the new Renegade Studios this May.

Gee Willikers, SpaceCulture Vulture David C Jones speaks with the co-writers, Toni Maggio and Katherine Stadel, about Gee Willikers, Space that has been created in the style of a 1950’s B-movie.  It tells the story of a time when planet Earth runs out of Magnorious, the most utilized element since high-fructose corn syrup, and two brave teams of space-warriors embark on an toe tapping musical filled adventure to find more.

Vancouver’s Rock Theatre Co most recently produced the 2011 musical A Shpadoinkle Musical, a tribute to the music of Matt Stone and Trey Parker and Toronto’s Third Kid Productions received both best of the fest awards from Toronto’s Bad Dog Theatre Short Play Festival and patron’s pick at the Hamilton Fringe for its musical Missed Connections.

Gee Willikers, Space runs May 6 – 11, 2013 at Renegade Studios, 125 East 2nd Avenue, Vancouver (alley entrance).  Tickets are $20 at the door, or $21 online at http://www.rocktheatreco.com.
