The Rainbow Concert Band celebrates 25 years

Vancouver’s Rainbow Concert Band celebrates its 25th anniversary with its concert A Rainbow of Dance Music.

Twenty-five years since they first performed at The Cultch, the Rainbow Concert Band returns to perform an evening of toe-tapping music featuring a selection of songs to dance to, and songs about dances.

“You’ll hear everything from a Minuet to the Samba with classics and new favourites to be enjoyed by all,” say organizers. “Some of the songs will feature dancers, and for others we will have the dance floor open, if you choose to join in on the fun.”

Formed in 1990 shortly after Vancouver hosted the Gay Games, the Rainbow Concert Band is the first and only concert band of its kind in Canada.

A Rainbow of Dance Music takes place at The Cultch (1895 Venables St, Vancouver) on Saturday, May 30. Visit http://thecultch.com for tickets or visit http://rainbowband.ca for more information.
