The holiday sounds of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra

Few do the sounds of the holiday season as well as the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. This year is no different as the VSO brings back a number of seasonal favourites.

The holiday sounds of the Vancouver Symphony OrchestraThe VSO’s annual concert, A Traditional Christmas, begins on December 13 and takes the Symphony throughout the Lower Mainland with heart-warming Christmas music and carols, hosted by the Christopher Gaze and featuring the UBC Opera Ensemble and EnChor, with VSO Assistant Conductor Gordon Gerrard at the helm. Concerts take place at St. Andrew’s Wesley Church in downtown Vancouver, and in Surrey, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, South Delta, Burnaby and Maple Ridge.

December comes to a close as VSO Concertmaster Dale Barltrop reprises his Four Seasons performance of two years ago. This time, you’ll hear Vivaldi’s timeless classic as well as Astor Piazzolla’s sensational, tango-flavoured The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires for Violin and Strings.
