Let your inner foodie celebrate the holidays

December is a hectic month for most, but we think there is still room for your inner foodie. Here’s a handful of events we’ve selected this month to help you stay festive.

On Tuesday, Deceber 10, take a walk through Italy at Nicli Antica Pizzeria’s Pizza and Wine Dinner, sampling authentic pizza from Chef Tozer as you sip on specially paired wines from the restaurant’s award winning wine list. The evening will consist of four original pizza creations each paired with an Italian wine. Your evening will be made complete with a delectable dessert and another wine to match. The evening starts at 8:30pm with your ticket guaranteeing you a reserved seat, food, wine, plus all taxes and gratuities.

On Tuesday, December 10, Reward Yourself and Get Pampered at SOHO Lounge for a night filled with decedent treats and unique pampering experiences like massages, manicures, mini-facials and more for both men and women.  There will also be a complimentary wine tasting plus some delicious food tastings from Vij’s Railway Express and Restaurant, plus a DJ and live entertainment. Ten percent of ticket sales will be donated to the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre who provide basic needs and positive change for women and children of the Downtown Eastside.

The Hawkers Market, our favorite East Vancouver market, returns on Saturday, December 14 for a special holiday edition just in time to finish your Christmas shopping and eat some delicious local food. Fresh from an edition in Calgary, this time Hawkers will feature the Tourtiere with Pied de Cochon, a Classic French Canadian recipe handed down to market founder Chris through his Grandmother, and easily the most decadent Holiday Tourtiere in existence. Your ticket not only gets you into one of the coolest markets in Vancouver but it also elps support early-stage local food entrepreneurs cultivate their businesses.
