There are plenty of Vancouver food events to be thankful for in October

October is here and there is a bounty of great food events to be thankful for in the coming weeks. Here are a few that we are particularly excited about.

Thanksgiving Dinner (October 13)

Graze vegetarian restaurant serves up a more modern traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixin’s – and you’re invited. The five-course meal includes a variety of holiday flavours in a five course meal. Tickets are available online.

Internet Dinner (October 17)

For those in the pursuit of something tasty they’ve likely seen only online, Hawkers Market presents a new food event called Internet Dinner. Guests can enjoy the famous (and messy) Ramen Burger, homemade delights from the Brown Paper Packages Ice Cream with an “adult sundae bar,” a Root Beer Stout from Storm Brewings and DJ Sets by Chapel Sound. A Culinary Event with Chef Lynn Crawford (October 17)

Executive Chef Lynn Crawford of Food Network’s Pitchin’ In and Top Chef Masters will be live on location at Trail Appliances in Vancouver for a live cooking demonstration. Find out how to make her legendary Cheddar Cheese Biscuits and pick up a copy of her latest book and have it signed. There will be door prizes and gift bags for all attendees. Tickets are available online with all proceeds going to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society.

Bacon, Beer and Chocolate (October 17)

Need we say more? Visit XOXOLAT’s shiny new downtown shop and taste why these three fine foods are true soul-mates. You won’t leave hungry. Tickets are available online.

Vancouver Farmers Markets Dinner (October 18)

RIPE is a casual, family-style feast of seasonal food prepared by local chefs in celebration of the harvest. The evening features a series of delicious appetizers followed by a sit-down feast of market fare and scrumptious desserts.  All accompanied by cocktails, BC wine and local micro-brews.  The silent and live auction will also help raise for the Vancouver Farmers Market organization. The BC Beer Awards and Festival (October 19)

Eagerly anticipated by beer fans and brewers alike, the 4th Annual British Columbia Beer Awards is one of the most focused beer events in Western Canada, showcasing and celebrating the very best of locally made beer.  This one-day-only event will also include the BC Beer Awards Beer Festival with BC’s best breweries will be on hand.
