Stack The Rack benefits our QMUNITY

Earlier this week, we had the chance to do some schmoozing, sip some fabulous wines and savour some tasty nibbles at Boneta Restaurant in Gastown, at a preview of the upcoming Stack The Rack fundraiser for QMUNITY.

Presented by Amuse Consulting and Vancity, in partnership with Marquis Wine Cellars and Mark Brand Inc., Stack The Rack is an evening of wine tasting, eating and shopping, all benefiting QMUNITY, BC’s Queer Resource Centre.

Getting a sneak peak at what will be served at the October fundraiser, we sampled some of the lovely wine and food pairings.  One of our favourites was the 2010 Chardonnay from Portland’s Crowley Wines, paired beautifully with a Dungeness crab salad and crème fraiche from the Boneta Restaurant kitchen. They were salty, crunchy and delicious!

Along with the wine and food we also had the chance to chat with QMUNITY’s Executive Director Dara Parker, who told us she is excited by these types of events that help support her organization’s work; located in Vancouver’s West End, QMUNITY provides social services and programs for Vancouver’s LGBTQ community.

Hosted by television journalist Isla Traquair, and local man-about-town Fred Lee, the 2nd Annual Stack The Rack takes place on Monday, October 1, from 6:30-9:30 at the old Boneta space (1 West Cordova).

Your $135 ticket includes the wine and food pairings throughout the evening and a gift bag from MASC.  Also included is a $50 gift certificate from Marquis Wine Cellars that you can use to purchase wines at the event or later at their Davie Street retail store to stock-up for home.  You will also receive an $85 charitable tax receipt and that really great feeling knowing you’re supporting the work QMUNITY.

Tickets are now available online.
