This week Ms Gay Vancouver raises some cash, we find out what really is better than chocolate, and explore the link between terrorism and money.

Better Than Chocolate

Pacific Cinematheque presents Anne Wheeler’s 1999 film Better Than Chocolate (Apr 11). This Vancouver-set lesbian romcom tells the story of two young lesbians who must deal with the unexpected arrival of mom who does not realize they are gay. A sub-plot riffs off the Little Sisters censorship battle with Canada Customs. The screening features both director Wheeler and producer Sharon McGowan in attendance.

Continuing at The Cultch, Pi Theatre presents a terrific cast in The Invisible Hand (until Apr 23).Ayad Akhtar’s compelling piece on the link between terrorism and money, and the nature of greed, it will definitely keep the conversations going long after the curtain.
