Some kink, a community talent show and some pugilist dancers are on tap this week as we present our picks for the next seven days.

Get your kink on this weekend as Vancouver’s annual Rubbout Weekend (4-6 Apr) returns for the 23rd edition of this party weekend for men who like rubber and fetish.  The action starts Friday night with registration at the Pumpjack, a full day of actvities on Saturday including a gear swap & play party, plus a Sunday brunch to finish it off.

The Spring Fling Cabaret (Apr 4) is a community building evening of local performers including sketch comedy, live music, burlesque, drag kings and live dj/dancing. The inaugural event for ¿Por Qué No? Productions, presented along with East Van’s award winning Leaping Thespians, showcasing the various local talents of our community.

DanceHouse presents Rocco (Apr 4-5), where dancers become boxers and boxers become dancers in a show that is billed as “a dance performance about physical and psychological extremes”. From Amsterdam’s International Choreographic Arts Centre, the dancers trained with an Italian boxing teacher during the work’s development.  Your ringside seats await.
