Wet & Wild Gay Bowling League, The Barron Gurl Show & A Modern Fairy Tale

Another eclectic mix of things to do in (gay) Vancouver. From playing with your balls to a new take on your favourite fairy tales, here are three things we think you shouldn’t miss this week.

Wet & Wild Gay Bowling League Registration

We’re not quite sure what is wet & wild about gay bowling, but we can only imagine. With the new bowling season upon us, it is time to pull out your balls and register for the league (Aug 26) that has its home at Rev’s Bowling Centre in Burnaby.

The Barron Gurl Show

The Odyssey Nightclub is back and the programming has started. Wednesday nights are The Barron Gurl Show (Aug 26) starring Isolde N Barron and Carlotta Gurl (now you know where the name comes from). DJ DomTop spins until the wee hours following the show that begins at 11pm (sharp).

A Modern Fairy Tale

Orthros Theatre Company presents A Modern Fairy Tale (until Aug 30), where the Wolf and adult Red Riding Hood face obstacles to their burgeoning romance. This pop-rock musical parody takes timeless characters and puts them in a modern light that just may have you reconsidering everything you thought you knew about your favourite fairy tale characters.

A Modern Fairy Tale will have you reconsidering what you thought you knew about your favourite fairy tale characters.
