This week in (gay) Vancouver we celebrate summer with a little lawn bowling, some Shakespeare in the park and welcome the men of Scruff.

Ever wondered about those people bowling on the lawn in Stanley Park? Now is your chance to find out as the Blue Heron Lawn Bowling League (Thursdays) takes to the bowls. This LGBT+ and friends league is a great way to spend your Thursdays in the summer. Go ahead, wear your whites.

You know summer is upon us in Vancouver as the Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival (until Sep 26) gets underway in the tents at Vanier Park. Now in its 26th season, the season features a steampunk inspired Comedy of Errors, the tragedy of King Lear, a 1920s inspired Love’s Labour Lost, and Shakespeare’s Rebel, adapted from C.C. Humphreys’ best-selling novel of the same name.
