This week in (gay) Vancouver: funny, film and femmes

Vancouver comedians Ryan Steele and Amy Goodmurphy are back with another Ryan and Amy Show at The Junction.

This week in (gay) Vancouver features some sketch comedy by Vancouver favourites Ryan and Amy, a special presentation of a Peruvian film and a night where femmes come out to play.

Vancouver comedians Ryan Steele and Amy Goodmurphy (photo above courtesy of the artists) are back with another Ryan and Amy Show (April 21 & 23) at The Junction. Promising a mash-up of live sketches and comedic videos, the duo promises “an awkward night of sketch comedy”.

The Vancouver Latin American Film Festival presents a special presentation of the Peruvian film Don’t Tell Anyone (April 21) at The Cinematheque. Heavily censored in its own country when it was released in 1998, Don’t Tell Anyone is considered one of the seminal films in understanding the double moral standard that exists in Peru and in many Latin American countries around homosexuality.

The Heartwood Community Cafe, Vancouver’s queer friendly neighbourhood cafe, presents Femme Friday (April 24) open to all self-identified and questioning femmes. This no cover event is open to femmes of all ages.
