The Vancouver Pride Society presents a fundraiser movie night at the Rio (Mar 13) featuring two cult-classics:  Grey Gardens, Albert and David Maysles iconic documentary starring the unforgettable mother-daughter dup of Big and Little Edie Beale, followed by Mean Girls, written by Tina Fey.

The University of British Columbia’s queer graduate and postdoc student association [The Network] is hosting a Meet and Greet at Heaven’s Door (Mar 14).  They are extending an invite to students and graduates from other local higher-education schools (UBC, SFU, VCC, BCIT, Emily Carr, etc) plus anyone else who could benefit from an opportunity to network with the graduate students at UBC.

The 2014 Vancouver International Dance Festival continues through March 29, 2014 with artists from China, Spain, the United States of America, Germany/Japan, and Canada performing techniques and styles as diverse as butoh, hip hop, flamenco, ballet, as well as cutting edge contemporary dance.
