Vancouver Pride 2015

Vancouver Pride 2015, the biggest and gayest event on Vancouver’s social calendar, is upon us!

This year, Vancouver Pride officially gets underway on July 27 and culminates with the Vancouver Pride Parade and Festival on August 2.  Here are all of the events you don’t want to miss.

Monday, July 27

Join Vancouver Mayor and Council as they raise the Pride flag at City Hall at 10:45 am, followed by a barbecue hosted by the city’s LGBTQ2+ advisory committee.

The Junction Pub kicks off their Pride week events with Pride Trivia hosted by Richard Romano.

Tuesday, July 28

DJ Del Stamp hosts a Pride week edition of Rewind featuring music of the 90s at The Junction.

Celebrities kicks-off its Pride week festivities with Tuesday – Pride Edition with resident DJs Johnny Jover, Darylo, and JP Valdes.

Wednesday, July 29

Steel Toad Brewpub & Dining Hall is host to A Pride Party Fundraiser to help raise funds to benefit Covenant House.

Hosts Emperor XLIV Eric Royalle & Empress XLIV Babette Co-Taylor present Pride Faux Girls at The Junction.

One of the hottest tickets in town during Pride Week is Bingo For Life: Pride Edition with special guest drag performances all hosted by the lovely Carlotta Gurl & friends.

Thursday, July 30

DJ Nick Bertossi spins the tunes at The Junction for Discotech Pride featuring pop recording artist Johnathan Dylan, debuting his new single “I Just Want To Dance”.

Celebrities presents The Spice Gurls Drag Reunion Show with the ‘gurls’ performing all your favourite hits with DJs Jane Smoker and Lisa Delux on deck playing a mix of house anthems.

Barb Snelgrove and Del Stamp host a night of Debauchery at Numbers Cabaret.

Friday, July 31

The Davie Street Block Party is back again as the Davie Village between Burrard and Jervis is closed to traffic. This year features an expanded beer garden and entertainment on stage at the Bute Street rainbow crosswalks.

Trans, Two-Spirit and Genderqueer folk hold a political protest and a celebration of gender diversity at a Liberation and Celebration March.

The women take to the high seas at the Chicks Ahoy Boat Cruise Party aboard the MV Magic Charm for an evening of dancing and naughty nautical fun.

Fly high with as Canadian Aviation Pride kicks off the Pride weekend with a YVR Pride Weekend Gathering.

Big Roger Events presents Varsity featuring Grammy nominated remixer/producer Dave Audé (LA).

DJ Drew hosts Funktion Pride at The Junction.

The Vancouver Queer Arts Festival continues at the Roundhouse Community Centre.

Saturday, August 1

Pancakes! Another Pride Week tradition, the Vancouver Pride Society honours one of the founders of Pride in Vancouver with the Terry Wallace Memorial Breakfast.

New this year is a Pride in the Village Barbecue honouring the history, successes and challenges experienced by the LGBTQ2+ community of Vancouver.

Elvira Kurt of The Comedy Network’s Popcultured, headlines Laugh Out! at the Vogue Theatre featuring guest comedian Darcy Michael, Symone Says and Queer Prov. Partial proceeds support A Loving Spoonful and Friends For Life.

Party Martyr Productions Presents On The Dance Floor: Queer Pride Edition at the Red Gate Arts Society featuring six DJs and three VJs.

Big Roger Events presents Glitter with DJ Abel (Miami) and featuring DJ Bret Law and Sollors plus the after-hours Play featuring DJ Isaac Escalante (Mexico) with DJ Mumbles.

DJ Mike Bermudez headlines at Hype Pride at The Junction plus a special edition of Dragulous with Carlotta Gurl.

This year’s Celebrities Pride Ball features DJ Chris Cox.

The Commodore Ballroom is the place to be for Queen of the Night featuring the stars of RuPaul’s Drag Race including JuJubee, Shangela LaQuifa Wadley, Alyssa Edwards, Milk Queen & Trixie Mattel.

The Vancouver Queer Arts Festival continues at the Roundhouse Community Centre.

Sunday, August 2

The big day is Sunday, August 2 as thousands gather in the West End to celebrate along the route of 37th annual Vancouver Pride Parade beginning at Noon. The day continues at Sunset Beach with the Pride Festival with an always exciting line-up of performers, and a great mix of booths offering up a diverse range of a products, services, and community organizations.

Dine with Divas in support of the Foundation of Hope.

Flygirl Productions host presents Pride Hershe Bar with two clubs and five DJs including Lisa Pittman (Vegas) and Riki Rocket (UK). Flygirl also presents its annual post-parade party for women at Chicas.

The Pride Party Cruise sets sail featuring DJs Jay Douglas & SPRLVR and your hosts Raye Sunshine, Jane Smoker & Evita Versace, while over on the Pride Go Go Cruise DJs Zach Shore & Bret Law are joined by hosts Joan-E, Carlotta Gurl, Dan Bevan & Mateo McIntyre.

Superstar drag queen Alaska Thunderfuck performs in the Davie Street Shopper’s Drug Mart parking lot as part of Untoxicated: Clean, Sober & Proud.

The Junction is host to a Pride T-Dance featuring DJ Nick Bertossi, followed by a Pride Dance Party that same evening with DJs Drew and MIke Bermudez, plus special spot performances by Carlotta Girl & Joan-E.

The annual Pride Youth Dance takes place at the Coal Harbour Community Centre for youth ages 14-25.

Bearracuda returns to Vancouver with its very own Pride edition featuring DJs Louis Lennon and Matt Sands upstairs and DJs GLuve and Freddy Kop downstairs.

Big Roger Events presents its 15th annual post-parade T-dance Troupe with DJ Quest and Sin, another after-hours party with DJ Alain Jackinsky (Montreal) and Nick Bertossi.

Pride wraps up at Celebrities with the 13-hour marathon dance party History Sunday featuring DJs Johnny Jover, Darylo, and Zach Shores.

The Vancouver Queer Arts Festival continues at the Roundhouse Community Centre.

Monday, August 3

The Pride Recovery Cruise sets sail with DJs Del Stamp & DomTop and featuring hosts Jaylene Tyme & Iona Whipp.

Big Roger Events closes out the Pride long weekend with United featuring international superstar producer Yinon Yahel (Israel) and DJ Del Stamp.

The Vancouver Queer Arts Festival continues at the Roundhouse Community Centre.
