New West celebrates Pride


Not to be outdone by the recent Pride festivities in Vancouver, New West Pride once again celebrates in the Royal City with a week of festivities culminating with the New West Pride Street Party on Columbia Street on Saturday, August 15.

Tuesday, August 11

Join New West Pride for The Love Lock Pride Family Picnic for a family-friendly and alcohol-free event at Westminster Pier Park. Bring your own picnic dinner and be sure to bring a cash donation to purchase your own Love Lock!

Wednesday, August 12

Join The Seniors Gay Straight Alliance for a 50+ Hoedown at the Century House Community Centre or join the celebrations and Tap That Cask at Pacific Breeze Winery and Steel & Oak Brewing.

Thursday, August 13

The Royal City Farmer’s Market hosts a Pride Pie Baking Contest and later that evening the Fireside Grill is host to Rainbow Night Karaoke and Frankie G’s Pub is home to Pride Trivia Night.

Friday, August 14

Montague Studio Gallery Centennial Lodge in Queens Park is host to a Pride Arts Celebration and Flygirl Productions presents the Double Down Dance Party at the Starlight Casino.

Saturday, August 15

New West takes over Columbia Street for the New West Pride Street Party featuring live performances on two stages hosted by Miz Adrien and David C. Jones. This free event also features four beer gardens, food trucks and fun for the kids too. The day-long street party is followed by a special Pride dance at Status Night Club and after-party celebrations at The Met and The Heritage Grill.
