The 8th annual BC Cultural Crawl, a month-long celebration of the vibrant arts, culture and enriching heritage in our province, kicks off BC Day weekend with over 90 participating communities.
The Crawl is a celebration of the vibrant arts, culture and heritage of BC showcasing the unique cultural footprints of BC’s diverse regions. From Kelowna’s cultural corridor to the bustle of Barkerville, British Columbia is truly a supercultural province.
Jump on your bike and take a spin through the Pemberton valley, visit the artisan wineries of Naramata, or simply explore the local galleries on Main Street.
Plan your local ‘art-full’ adventure or a weekend getaway to another region of the province by visiting http://www.art-bc.com. Here you’ll find hundreds of community-led events, local art walks, farmer’s markets, culinary experiences, concerts, arts performances, museums and heritage sites, and much more.
This year’s province-wide Cultural Crawl is presented in partnership with the Assembly of BC Arts Councils.
For the past seven years producing the Crawl has been a philanthropic effort on the part of founder Trudy Van Dop, a small team and sponsors dedicated to showcasing the arts and culture of our province. After much consideration Van Dop, also publisher of the Arts & Cultural Guide to BC, has found the ideal partner in the Assembly, an organization that has served BC communities for over 30 years, with over 90 community arts councils to date.
We are thrilled with the possibilities of this new partnership,” says Van Dop. “We have identified synergies between both parties to achieve a sustainable, long-term relationship benefiting communities throughout British Columbia. This is an exceptional opportunity for local cultural leaders to work in partnership with the arts councils to bring increased exposure to their community.
