The annual Women’s Winter Faire, celebrating the talent of British Columbia’s women artisans and craftswomen, returns for its 18th year on December 15 and 16, 2012.
For the past 18 years local event production company Sounds & Furies has presented a version of this arts and crafts fair which not only features over 50 booths of creative, funky, beautiful, ecologically-sound and diverse gifts, but has also raised over $90,000 through door donations to a wide range of local and international organizations. This year door proceeds will go to supporting the victims of Hurricane Sandy,
Taking place at the landmark Heritage Hall on Main Street, the curated show is as much as social as it is about shopping as it transforms the venue into a bustling village square complete with an in-house café.
First launched in 1994 by Sounds & Furies co-founder Pat Hogan, the Women’s Winter Faire is modeled after the annual women’s market that was taking place in San Francisco at that time.
