She’s been there for more than twenty years, working tirelessly day-in and day-out with little complaint. But she is starting to feel her age and it’s time for her to be replaced.
Friends for Life needs your help in replacing its aging elevator at its Diamond Centre For Living to continue its work in providing some 50 different therapies for individuals in the palliative stages of illness.
“Our elevator can no longer support mobility devices like wheelchairs and scooters. In order to accommodate our clients with accessibility issues, we need to replace it now,” says Friends for Life Board Member Paul Nixey in a release. “The good news is we have received a very generous donation from the Province of British Columbia to help cover the expense of the replacement, but we are still $10,000 short of our goal.”
The capital fundraiser is now on with a goal to raise the needed funds by June 15. To help them achieve that goal the Scotiabank Coal Harbour Branch will match all money raised dollar-for-dollar to a maximum of $5,000.00.
“Every dollar makes a difference in the lives of our members living with a life-threatening illness,” says Nixey. “Please make your own gift today, and help make the Diamond Centre for Living accessible to our all of our clients.”
