No passport required for this Awesome Race

With local boys Ryan Steele and Rob Goddard hanging on in the Amazing Race Canada, local interest in the CTV network show may very well be at an all-time high.  Looking to capitalize on that momentum is HIV/AIDS charity A Loving Spoonful who are back again with their own version for their upcoming fundraiser.

On Sunday, September 7 The Awesome Race will pit 50 teams of two against each other as they race around Metro Vancouver competing in challenges, detours and pit stops. In a unique twist, teams will actually vie for a grand prize of $2,400.00.

The Awesome Race will not only raise much needed funds for A Loving Spoonful, it will also provide increased visibility for the charitable work it does in providing free, nutritious meals and improving the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS in Metro Vancouver.

Here are four reasons organizers say you should join The Awesome Race:

  1. Race to raise funds for those in need.
  2. Race because nobody living with HIV/AIDS should be hungry.
  3. Race because healthy choices and exercise, builds resiliency and promotes positive attitude.
  4. Race because this is going to be a memorable and fun event.
