New Westminster’s Royal City Pride Society and Surrey Pride come together for a night of cabaret in support of their city’s summer pride festivities.
The cabaret will be held at the Columbia Theatre in New Westminster on Saturday June 16, 2012 beginning at 8pm, hosted by Surrey’s own drag queen Mz Adrien who is promising a wonderful line up of entertainment including burlesque, dancers, singers and much more.
Organized to help fund the pride festivals in Surrey (Sunday, July 8th) and New Westminster (Saturday, 18th August), the evening is what Surrey Pride President Jen Marchbank calls “a wonderful example of two smaller communities working together to offer new entertainment opportunities to the LGBTQ community and beyond”.
Combining the themes of both the New West and Surrey pride celebrations in 2012, the two communities have named the fundraiser Bridging the Rainbow to Let Your Colours Reign.
“Working together really has brought our festival themes to life – Surrey is Bridging the Rainbow – New West is Let Your Colours Reign – together we are reaching across actual bridges so everyone can shine,” says Shell Reinhart, President of Royal City Pride Society.
