It’s hard to believe it has been three decades since AIDS Vancouver first hosted its AIDS Candlelight Memorial. More than a 30 year anniversary of the memorial though, this year also marks the 30th anniversary of AIDS Vancouver.
“Solidarity in communities is essential to reduce stigma and promote the involvement of people living with HIV in order to ensure a more effective HIV response,” says AIDS Vancouver. “Only together as communities can we advocate for universal access to quality health and social services.”
The 30th Vancouver International AIDS Candlelight Memorial event will be emceed by Bradford McIntyre, Vice-Chair of AIDS Vancouver and will include a musical tribute with performances from the Vancouver Men’s Chorus, Leora Cashe, Jess Cullen and others.
