This is a year of firsts for the Dr Peter Centre’s annual Passions gala, which raises funds in support of the group’s work with those living with HIV/AIDS.
Now in its eighth year, the annual fundraiser on September 11th will not only include 23 of Vancouver’s top restaurants and the wines of New Zealand, but will also recognize the changing landscape of food delivery with Fresh Local Wild, one of Vancouver’s new street food carts, greeting guests as they arrive.
Adding two other firsts, this year will also include a cocktail and canapé pairing station and a pre-event champagne reception. The exclusive champagne reception, limited to just 50 tickets, will provide guests an opportunity to sip bubbly as they preview auction items and have an opportunity to mix and mingle with event hosts and Dr. Peter’s friends and family.
The entire evening will be hosted by television personalities Sophie Lui and Jay Janower, with man-about-town Fred Lee returning as auctioneer. Along with music from Sangre Moreno, guests will once again be entertained by the high-flying acrobatics of Circus Aerials.
Helping to raise over $600,000 for the Dr Peter Centre since its inception, this year’s Passions will continue to allow the Centre to operate its day health program and a 24-hour residence with palliative and respite care services for those living with HIV/AIDS.
