Capilano Performing Arts Theatre, 2055 Purcell Way, North Vancouver
Part of the Pacific Arbour Speaker Series, Lesbian and Muslim Irshad Manji reads from her new book “Allah, Liberty and Love”.
Irshad Manji is a Canadian author, journalist and well known Muslim “Refusenik.” Her #1 Canadian bestseller, “The Trouble with Islam Today: A Wake-Up Call for Honesty and Change,” earned international recognition and inspired Manji’s Emmy-nominated PBS film, “Faith Without Fear” as well as having been published in over 30 languages. Today, Irshad is the director of the Moral Courage Project at New York University. Her goal is to teach leaders to challenge political correctness and to promote Muslim reform and moral courage.
Her forthcoming new release entitled “Allah, Liberty and Love: The Courage to Reconcile Faith and Freedom” reflects on the journey she has taken since her previous book and takes a more universal approach to personal and political liberty looking beyond Islamic reform. Don’t miss an evening with this brave and remarkable woman.
