Including such contemporary favorites as Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik’s presents the second in his series of tributes to Broadway on April 8 & 9 at the Orpheum.
Also including music from such classics as My Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls, Music Man and many more Broadway favourites, the evening not only features music from the VSO Pop’s Orchestra but also includes Broadway vocalists Christiane Noll and Doug LaBrecque.
Noll, pictured right, may best be known for supplying the singing voice for Anna in the Warner Brothers animated feature The King and I and as one of the stars of Jekyll & Hyde and It Ain’t Nothin’ But The Blues on Broadway. LaBrecque is equally at home on the stage having recently starred in the revival of Showboat on Broadway and toured nationally with Les Miserables.
Recognized as one of America’s most innovative pops conductors, VSO Pop’s conductor Jeff Tyzik also serves as Principal Pops Conductor for both the Oregon Symphony and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
