Participants can sample chocolate from three uniquely different chocolatiers and learn about chocolate from bean to bar, the art of hand tempering, and more.
Firefly manager and Red Seal Chef Kevin Loewen and French wine scholar candidate Leanne Quirk host Aphrodisia: Wines for Valentines (Feb 13), a delicious evening of wine and food to set the mood for Valentine’s Day. Five wines and a liqueur will be paired with a variety of foods and dessert.
Tucked underneath the Granville Street Bridge in the heart of Granville Island, Edible Canada’s 2nd Annual Festival Under the Bridge (Feb 14-16) is part of CMHC’s annual Winterruption Festival. Featuring Canadian inspired food stations that will include cheesy perogies, bison chili, and maple flapjacks to name a few, the food is paired with local beers from Granville Island Brewing, and of course Canadian wines. The Festival will feature the Olympics on large screens and a variety of musical entertainment.
Join five of Vancouver’s finest bartenders as they vie to become the winner of in the inaugural Calvados Cocktail Competition (Feb 18). With the field narrowed to the top five recipes featuring Pere Magloire Fine Calvados, this final night of competition will crown a winner. Guests will have the opportunity to sample each competitor’s cocktail and nosh on delicious inspired bites from the UVA kitchen.
