With the heat wave underway, many are looking for options to get indoors and beat the heat especially with few Vancouver homes with air-conditioning!
You’ve already been to the Aquarium, made a day of it at the Second Beach Pool, made the rounds to the local bars & pubs and attended just about every summer blockbuster in the local movie houses. But what about Granville Island?
What, you say? Granville Island as an escape from the heat? It is if you take into account the air-conditioned New Revue Stage on Granville Island with almost nightly performances by the Vancouver TheatreSports League.
For those of you unfamiliar with Vancouver TheatreSports League, they are a professional comedy improv company producing original, entirely, improvised theatre. Think Whose Line Is It Anyway. In fact, some of your favorite Whose-Liner’s, such as Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie, started with Vancouver TheatreSports.
Those of you in the know, fondly remember Vancouver TheatreSports League from your university/college days, when hitting one of their shows, having a few laughs and a few beers was a perfect and cheap evening out with the gang. Well, it still is!
This summer Vancouver TheatreSports presents one of their most popular shows – Improvivor Granville Island and along with a night of laughs is, dare we say it, a great way to beat the heat!
This popular Survivor parody runs for four more weeks, providing ample time for families to come down, escape the evening heat and enjoy the laughs together.
Beat the heat – take in Improvivor Granville Island Thursday through Saturday at 7:30pm. Tickets are available at the New Revue Box Office or at Ticketmaster 604-280-4444. For group rates call the Vancouver TheatreSports® League at 604-738-7013.
