This week in (gay) Vancouver: girls, girls … bowling?

A night of bowling gets sandwiched between a film about girls and a party for girls in this week’s picks.

All good things must come to an end as Vancouver’s pink screens begin to fade back to silver.  After more than 80 films from eleven countries, the The 2014 Vancouver Queer Film Festival comes to an end on Sunday, Aug 24 with its closing gala film Girltrash: All Night Long (photo above) followed by a Closing Gala Party at The Junction on Davie Street.

Wet and Wild, Vancouver’s 10[in mixed gay bowling league is gearing up for a new season.  They invite you check out their balls during their upcoming Registration Night (Aug 20) at Rev’s Bowling Centre in Burnaby.  Alll about fun and friendship, the league is always looking for new members of all skill levels.

Just in time for the Labour Day long weekend, DJ Soulfunkee (UK, Hong Kong) makes her return to Vancouver for Hershe Bar: Where The Girls Are (Aug 31).  Along with DJ Miss M organizers are promising an epic mix of a mix of house, EDM and hiphop.
