This week in (gay) Vancouver: celebrate the Vancouver theatre community, the kids are back in town and the boys of summer get ready to play with their balls.
Vancouver’s theatre community comes out to play with the 2015 Jessie Award Nomination Party (May 19). As we all know, it really is just an honour to be nominated. No really, it is. And while we’ve already received the nomination list, we are sworn to secrecy. Winners will be revealed at the award ceremony on June 22.
The Kids in the Hall are back with another North American live tour that sees them arrive in Vancouver on Friday, May 20. First appearing on CBC television back in 1988, the “kids” (Mark McKinney, Dave Foley, Scott Thompson, Kevin McDonald and Bruce McCulloch) are promising a mix of new and classic material. We assume that will include Buddy Cole, and no doubt a lot of cross-dressing.
The Junction is the place to be as the Boys of Summer get ready to play with its annual Go Team BBQ Patio Party (May 24). Always a sell-out it is a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon with some 200 softball players and their balls.
