The Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Torch Relay is set to begin its final journey to the opening ceremonies with a 24 hour relay beginning at 2pm on Thursday, March 11th.
In the final hours before the Paralympic Cauldron is lit at the opening ceremonies, the flame will be carried by nearly 300 torchbearers in a circular continuous relay through downtown Vancouver streets for 24 hours leading up to the start of the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games. Interactive exhibits and free family entertainment including bands, sport demonstrations, public skating, s and dance acts will be featured throughout the 24-hour celebration.
Members of the public are invited to the GE Plaza at Robson Square (located at Robson and Howe Streets) to cheer on the torchbearers and enjoy the entertainment. While entertainment is scheduled throughout the 24 hour period, special planned stage celebrations will take place at 1:45pm, 5:45pm and 9:45pm on Thursday, March 11th and at 10:15am on Friday, March 12th.
