It’s never too late to start thinking about the biggest event on Vancouver’s LGBTQ calendar. So mark your calendars – the official Vancouver Pride Week 2011 begins July 23 and culminates with the annual Vancouver Pride Parade and Festival on July 31, 2011.
This year’s Vancouver Pride theme is Celebrate, the final piece in the Pride Society’s three-year theme of Educate, Liberate, Celebrate.
And celebrate we will with a variety of Pride events already scheduled including East Side Pride (June 25), Gay Day @ Playland (July 16), Picnic in the Park (July 23) and the Davie Street Dance Party (July 29).
The week culminates with the blow-out celebration as hundreds of thousands line the streets of Denman Street and Beach Avenue to watch the Pride Parade beginning at Noon on July 31. Immediately following the parade the Sunset Beach Festival gets underway with local and international performers on the festival stage, 100+ booths offering up a diverse range of products and information and a beachfront beer garden.
With the 2011 North America OutGames also scheduled in Vancouver at the same time this is definitely the year to CELEBRATE!
Be sure to check back in the coming weeks as we ramp our own coverage of Vancouver Pride 2011!
