The Vancouver 2015 Pride season officially gets underway with East Side Pride at Grandview Park on Saturday, June 27.

This free annual event, held to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City, features a full day of performances, games, community groups and artisans from 11am to 6pm. The entertainment line-up this year includes performances by local bands, some queer improv, a fashion show, and some of East Vancouver’s top drag performers. The festivities will be hosted by Rose Butch, recent winner of the Mr/Mrs Cobalt Drag Competition.

The East Side Pride Market is also back for another year and will feature local artisans, food outlets and community groups. New this year is a trans and gender-diverse community zone.

The celebration will continue at Queer x Queer, the official East Side Pride after-party presented by Man-up at The Cobalt (917 Main St, Vancouver).
