The OIS Rainbow Cultural Society is gearing up to celebrate Surrey Pride 2010 with a series of events in June and July.
“Men, women, and families are encouraged to come,” said OIS Rainbow Cultural Society’s President, Larry Szunyik. “This day is designed to give everyone in the community the motivation to accept diversity and unification and to improve their lives in this new decade”.
The events planned for Surrey Pride 2010, with the theme of “Honour Our Past and Secure Our Future” are scheduled for various venues within the Surrey area, Mel Gill, OIS Rainbow Cultural Society’s Pride Chair announced.
“We’re opening up the festival to those who want to feel good from the inside out, be part of a growing community and to just enjoy life”.
On July 9th go Bowling in Your PJs at Dell Lanes (10576 King George Blvd). Cost is $15.00 for 3 games and shoes. A full menu is offered at Dell Lanes if you work up an appetite.
Another Gay Pride Dance is set for Saturday, July 10th at Jake’s in the Compass Point Inn (9850 King George Blvd) with doors at 8pm. Tickets $10.00 in advance or $15.00 at door (limited number of tickets available). Purchase tickets on Friday nights at the Blue Corvette Lounge or by email from firstname.lastname@example.org.
The entire Surrey Pride season culminate with the Surrey Pride Festival in Holland Park on July 11th from Noon to 5pm and will feature live entertainment, lots of food, prizes and much more! Located on the corner of King George Boulevard and Old Yale Road (across from the King George Skytrain Station and Central City Shopping Centre).
Other planned events include a Surrey Youth Alliance Pride Dance on July 2nd.
