Vancouver Pride 2014 is fast approaching and as we’re fond of saying around here, it is never too early to start thinking about the biggest and gayest event on Vancouver’s social calendar.
In 2014, Vancouver Pride Week officially begins July 28 with the proclamation at City Hall and culminates with the Vancouver Pride Parade and Festival on August 3. Along with the events that take place during Pride Week, there are also a number of events in the weeks ahead of Pride.
East Side Pride returns to Grandview Park on June 28, as a tribute to the Stonewall Riots and celebration of East Vancouver’s LGBTQ community.
Gay Day at Playland also returns with a day at the amusement park for the LGBTQ commmunity on July 19. Show your colours by wearing red and enjoy a day of rids, drag queens and other activities.
The annual Picnic in the Park is at Brockton Oval on July 26 with a day of both family-friendly games plus entertainment and a beer garden. That same day the Vancouver Frontrunners holds its Pride Walk and Run.
Pride with the Whitecaps takes place July 27 as Vancouver’s Whitecaps Football Club take on their Dallas rivals in this second annual match. Bring your Pride flags and make some noise! Use code PRIDEVAN to get the deal.
Vancouver Pride 2014 officially kicks off at Vancouver City Hall with the Pride Proclamation on July 28 and things really heat up with the Davie Street Pride Block Party on Friday, August 1. The Terry Wallace Memorial Breakfast is also back for another year on Saturday, August 2.
The big day is Sunday, August 4 as thousands gather in the West End to celebrate along the 2014 Vancouver Pride Parade route beginning at Noon. The day continues at the Pride Festival and Market with an always exciting line-up of performers, and a great mix of booths offering up a diverse range of a products, services, and community organizations.
